¿Qué Pasa, Che?

What’s up with this place?

While wandering around Cape Town, we stumbled across this business on a quiet street.

We puzzled over what was inside. There were no windows and the door was locked. The overhead sign that read  “¿Qué Pasa?” (“What’s up?” in Spanish) didn’t exactly offer a lot of hints.

What was the deal with Che’s recognizable face printed on the Cuban flag? And why the Puerto Rican flag over the door?

Was this a store? A restaurant? A Caribbean Art Gallery? And why was it closed in the middle of the day?

We were so curious we looked it up online. Turns out, the “¿Qué Pasa? Latin Lounge” is a dance school and salsa night club.

Next time you’re in Cape Town, drop in to swing your hips to a saucy Cuban beat.  But keep in mind they don’t open til 5 p.m.
