Che preaches birth control.

This picture was submitted by Marcelo Vieta. He’s a social and communications researcher with a particular interest in Argentina and the country’s response to its economic crisis in December of 2001.

He traveled to Buenos Aires in July of 2005. While wandering through the barrio of San Telmo, he came across this mural, which reads: For the sake of love, use protection.

He took the picture, he said, because he thought it was an interesting appropriation of the Che image. Che promoting the use of condoms isn’t something you see everyday.

I think Che would have approved, he said.
