Hoi An, Vietnam
This smoldering Che graced the wall of a popular restaurant.
I spotted this Che in Hoi An, Vietnam. It was on the second floor of a restaurant-bar that was popular with the backpacker crowd.
I don’t remember what the place was called. I do remember that there was a string of silk lanterns hanging from the balcony. Oh wait …
If you’ve been to Hoi An then you know that the same could be said for every single store front in town! Silk lanterns aren’t much of a “distinguishing factor” there.
Seriously, though, I do remember that this restaurant was on “Le Loi” street.
I had a number of Che-sightings in Vietnam, which surprised me at first. Of course, once I stopped to think about it, it made perfect sense. Communist is as Communist does. Or something like that.
